Where we got the name, "The Masses:"
"The Masses" was a ten-cent monthly first published in January 1911 in New York City. It advocated, in part, workman's compensation, safe working conditions, the rights of women to vote and receive birth control information, and the formation of a world peace organization.

Endorsed by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and winner of VH1's "You Rock With Melissa Etheridge," singer/songwriter/producer Alicia Champion has been making music professionally since age 15. Owner of Champ Records, Alicia is also Co-founder and Executive Producer of the San Diego IndieFest, and Senior Producer at Durga Sound Studios, churning out records for bands like Rhythm And The Method, Runhoney, Kontious and The Ko-Op, and of course, DLPM.

 
Richard "Chef RnB" Sellers

A native of Valencia, California, Richard received early training from Stewart Fischer (brother of jazz giant Claire), Earl Palmer, and Joe Porcaro. In 1980, Richard received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and was honored as an exceptional soloist at the 1983 Fullerton Jazz Festival. "Chef RnB" is known for uncanny talent with brushes, his undeniable energy, joy for performing, and his strict attention to dynamics and groove. Richard has been featured in Modern Drummer magazine and made high-profile appearances at the NAMM Show. Chef is affiliated with Smith Custom Drums, Turkish Cymbals, and Alternative Percussion

The dynamic Damien Smith is a multi-instrumentalist who's been making music since the age of 4. Inspired on the guitar by Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, Damien is also a formally trained percussionist under Dr. Michael Carney at CSULB. A multi-talented musician since he started music as a kid, Tonga grew up in a rich musical environment surrounded by performers from all walks of life. Influenced by the diverse musical background of his father's local band (Semisi and FulaBula), he utilized the opportunity to play with some of the best musicians San Diego has to offer in developing a versatile and complex expertise of music. Now a seasoned pro at the young age of 24 he is armed with finely honed skills and a great passion for original music and now brings it all to the DLPM ranks.
